Müritz
Bear Forest
Brown bears in Germany? Didn't they die out ages ago?!
It is, however, a widely held secret that many brown bears lead a miserable
existence on concrete surfaces and behind bars throughout Europe, so that
includes German leisure parks and circuses too, even those kept in private
captivity. The animal protection
organisation "VIER PFOTEN" (Four Paws) has set itself the task of
helping these animals. The Müritz BEAR FOREST has been set up at the southern
end of the beautiful Plauer lake
and consists of a 16-hectare outdoor enclosure with mixed forest,
meadows and natural flowing water. The Müritz BEAR FOREST is open to visitors
all year round. A hiking trail takes visitors through the forest. During the
tour which lasts around two hours, the brown bears can be observed in their
natural habitat. For further information, click here.
Boat trip
Combine a romantic
lantern-lit boat journey and light-hearted dance evening with a tour through
the unspoiled flora and fauna of the Mecklenburg Lake District. Simply unwind
and relax in the quiet evening hours on the sun deck, dreamily watch the water
birds fly by and enjoy the sunset.
